What Is It Like Starting From No Work Out To Crossfit?

It’s been tough to get your mind around the thought of getting started from zero at first. In fact, I think one of the biggest challenges for most people is getting their heads around the idea that they can be successful regardless of anything. I certainly struggled with this concept for a while. I had done a lot of strength training and CrossFit-based fitness before, but there was always a little voice in my head saying “yeah, but you’ve never done it sober! What if you tried it with no music/no ear buds/everything paused beforehand?” These doubts got louder as I started more dedicated programs before moving on to other things. Sometimes those doubts were enough to limit me from even trying something new… until one day they went out that door as well. It felt as though something big opened up inside of me at last – telling me I could try anything! A gut feeling tells me it takes a couple months or so after being exposed to more trials and errors before we truly become comfortable enough doing our own thing regardless of what went wrong or what didn’t go quite right. This process is sometimes painful because we aren’t used to giving ourselves permission; plus we may be basically incapable of figuring things out alone without outside help (ergo: group training).
