When Will 2018 Crossfit Open Workouts Be Announced?

after year-end 2017, the first 2018 CrossFit Open workout should be released on January 9, 2018. We’ll do our best to explain how it works so you know what you’re up against during the early weeks of The Open.

What does “Racing” mean?

During The Open, individual athletes will compete at their own rate of intensity. The workouts are made up of three components: (1) anaerobic capacity (run), (2) strength endurance (i.e., front squat or handstand press), and (3) speed (jump rope). This means that scoring is separate for each day, making it impossible to compare scores across days without game play accounting for distance traveled within the two 45 minute time spans separating each gatekeeper workout .
