When To Tell Your Crossfit Coach You Are Pregnant?

I wish I had a clear answer to this. My personal experience was that it wasn’t as big an issue as we were worried about. The people we would share with seemed genuinely supportive and, despite some “What? You’re pregnant?” reactions, no one made anything too uncomfortable for us and everyone seemed excited for us to do what we wanted. If you are worried though – just keep your workouts to the bare minimum so you don’t take unfair advantage of them, and be totally honest with your coach when you finally take maternity leave at 8 months pregnant (you will still be able to do pretty much everything).

Are there any rules regarding Pregnancy in CrossFit or Other types of Strength Training?

The short answer is no. For those who may not know, CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program where various exercises performed for reps (and sometimes sets) can be done without regard to weight or time limits (i.e., the goal isn’t necessarily to do more reps/sets than anybody else; it’s really about trying maximum effort through whatever means possible). So if someone does 30 burpees, they’ve absolutely busted their butt; but they haven’t broken any rules by barely scraping past 15 or 20 as well as they can if their focus is on explosive power over cardio endurance. More general advice: make sure you are eating enough & following basic safety precautions while working out… which obviously includes taking care of yourself
