Crossfit is a high-intensity weight-training routine that aims to build endurance and improve overall fitness levels. It combines elements of military training, choreography and aerobic sport at the end of which participants rest while an instructor crosses them through a workout. CrossFit workouts may be done independently or by groups depending on the fitness level of each participant. In its most basic form, it is aimed for people who have little if any previous experience in sports or music taking part in impromptu crossfit classes from members with various types of expertise. Individuals embarking on this programme are expected to go through a period where they learn how to perform certain exercises that put more emphasis on increasing anaerobic stamina and technique over increasing muscle size..
