I have a full understanding of the pain and discomforts training can create, particularly in my shoulder joints. Like so many CrossFitters, I have been through hell and back with this pain over the last few years, but that’s relatively old news for me. In fact, if you follow me on Instagram you probably saw a picture from just a couple of months ago where I was literally putting my arm behind my head while wearing an sling because I was too stubborn to even see the doctor about it (and finally caving when all 3 o-rings gave out at once).
Since then I’ve adjusted my programming (mainly reducing squat volume), rested more frequently (every 2nd or third day instead of daily), treated inflammation like its own monster (vitamin C + Vitamin D supplementation every night before bed), and agonised over who gets which treatment prescription/couples yoga sessions together. Also, this gorgeous crossfit thing is really dating everyone EXCEPT ME.
How Many Years Did Schwinn Make The Crossfit??
» Ed Leahey «I’ve been Cyclocross/Road biking for over 15 years, and recently switched to road. Two years ago I can hardly roll out of bed in the morning due to knee and hip pain. That all changed last winter when I started a workout routine that included ride on my bicycle with a weighted vest and did 25 miles of hills on a Atlantis weighted mini recumbent bicycle. This year I am not finding that my knees will allow for as much hill work, however I am feeling far more “superhuman” while weight training at the gym this year despite taking time off from riding over the past couple of months. My ” regimented” cyclocross training routine left me somewhat bored during my cardio workouts this past spring/summer. Having the ability to hop on an Atlantis while attending evening classes has been a great experience, as well as making it easier to continue with some “hardcore” strength and cardio throughout summer into early September without losing too much time from class. With this new fitness level comes increased respect from my peers especially while eating lunch next to those who have been going to Crossfit or PXF centered gyms down the block from me for several years now…as they know form follows function.» «I’ve been Cyclocross/Road biking for over 15 years, and recently switched to road.
