What Is Better For Out Of Shape Person Farrell’S Extreme Bodyshaping Or Crossfit?

I’m new to crossfit. What is the best kind of workout for someone who has had some weight issues? Or, would farrell’s extreme bodyshaping be more beneficial to someone with an obese background? Side-by-side comparison. If you’re doing farrell’s extreme bodyshaping, do you need to use machines (like the squat racks at CFS) or can you use free weights? I’ve kept up my lifting on and off since I was in high school but am now 56 years old and trying to get back into shape. The reason I mentioned weight issues is because before joining cfs I was overweight (read: obese) and only worked 10 minutes a day 4x a week at home using dumbbells and bodyweight exercises like pushups, dips, lunges etc.. .you don’t need much equipment for this exercise if any at all.
