How Much Money Do You Win For Winning The Crossfit Open?
” The Crossfit Open itself is a tournament, and it fun for these reasons: 1. There are prizes; lots of them! Every year, athletes can make up to $40,000 USD in prize money. 2. It’s like an athletic game show; like “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” (see video above) Or “Survivor” or even the Olympics! You get to compete against other people who may be way out of your league but you still learn invaluable lessons that will help you with life after competition too like how great it feels to win big (and also how bad it feels when you lose.) And this is REAL money. The amount of money offered at the 2017 Open did not grow by much since last year but I would imagine that because there were so many more athletes registered to compete, they received more than $25,000 in total prize money allotted to 61 different categories. And remember what I said earlier about everyone starting somewhere? The American College of Sports Medicine estimates that half the participants who began CrossFit at some point gave up within 6 months! And if that doesn’t inspire you then maybe this statistic will: 43%* of all participants walked away from their first event ever having completed ONE workout during their journey doing CrossFit. So truly this open presents an opportunity for anyone regardless of skill level or fitness experience to excel in their sport AND potentially take home
