It’s pretty simple, if you are good enough for Crossfit then you are good enough to be sponsored. Initially when I started out with this, I didn’t want someone that big or popular to sponsor me because they would obviously be seen by everyone in the gym. But now after being sponsored by many different people over the years it’s actually made my life easier and there are lots of advantages to having a sponsor early on in your career. The only problem is every time you come up for air someone else wants to take your place! Having a sponsor also gets me discounts at gyms everywhere which removes all the hassle of trying to get into new gyms around LA. The best thing about having a sponsor is that it takes all the pressure off during judgement days, no one cares what you want to do anymore because they think it looks cool so go ahead and give them all the details about what you did last night while drinking wine with friends rather than stepping on any toes or taking up too much space at WODs! Being sponsored makes everything so much easier but it does mean sacrificing certain things like time away from family and friends, money, travel…etc..
