How Many Calories Are Burned In An Average Crossfit Workout?
When it comes to burning calories in a Crossfit workout, the biggest factor is how much energy you burn when your body breaks down fat for fuel. The majority of calories lost occur during this process (also known as “metabolic processes”) and the total number of calories burned will depend on how many carbs and protein you eat while training. Most programs recommend around 1g protein per pound of lean body mass; however, diet alone will not make up for the lack muscle loss that occurs during weight loss (this is why we strongly advise that people who are losing weight start at least 30 minutes per session). Therefore: If you weigh 70lbs = 1104 Calories burned during 1 minute of work; therefore, you should either consume 1104 Calories every minute or eat 69 additional grams (~1116) Protein every minute. If you weigh 200lbs = 3526 Calories burned during 1 minute of work; therefore, you should either consume 3526 Calories every minute or eat 242 additional grams (~3568) Protein every minute.
