ok, i was having a good workout and thought “man that bench press really smokes today” so i added weight. thats when it all went wrong… my hands became sore and started to tear up.

some tips on what not to do:

don’t bench again for at least three days or even two weeks depending on how much they tear up (which is why i’m trying to stick with strict pull-ups alone for now)

also try filling your palms with tissue paper, this is sort of like the “ankles and knuckles” trick where you cover them and roll down the bench. that is also an old trick, but just enough to give your skin some time to heal from being stretched too far!
