Is it the impact of competing? The relationship of crossfit to swimming, football (soccer) and even gymnastics. Maybe I’m completely off but you see what I’m getting at.

I say let’s not have another competition for a year or so. Drop out of all competitions in track and field till spring break. A clean reset with an eye on the championship 2017/2018 season. So there is no doubt about whether or not people are interested in competition again by winter break 2018/2019 they have their answer which is obvious whether they were interested before winter break 2018/2019 or not. We will love every single one who came back! And if they didn’t go anywhere…. oh well tough luck! A little bit of change can do wonders for your friends, family, co-workers close ones…and most importantly- YOU!

How Many Calories Do I Burn In A Crossfit Workout?

So, let’s get started and figure out how many calories we burn in a Crossfit workout — which ones? As discussed last week, I’ve been doing some research on this and it looks like the answer is: “it depends.” There has been quite a bit of research on muscle growth (i.e., an increase in lean tissue) with CrossFit workouts but not on weight loss [1]. This means that if you were to lose weight using CrossFit-style workouts then the calorie burn would be less than if you lost weight through running or swimming or crocheting. All of that said, I did find one study looking specifically at the calorie burn for 8 different weight-loss programs (including 2 different types of high intensity training). The findings concluded that high intensity exercise burns more calories than muscle building activities like jogging or weightlifting. However…there are two caveats! One caveat is that intensity (which was measured by how difficult each activity was completed),not only affected the amount of energy burned but also how much time participants used to complete their exercise–and yes, there was an effect here too! More intense exercises required more time to complete them; therefore these individuals burned fewer calories overall compared with those exercising at moderate intensities.
