the short answer is yes. although i would never recommend anyone do what i am about to describe without first consulting their doctor or qualified medical professional, i have had incredible success with low daily total training volume over extended periods of time (like 8+ years) without losing any strength or muscle mass whatsoever ???? i started lifting heavy weights way back when watching my dad lift rocks around the backyard house he built for us so high up on a rocky hillside in our hometown in northern new england where they always said things grow bigger than timber !!! this was back before he died !!!! very special moment indeed growing up with that dude 🙂 . since then of course there are more formidable metals to be lifted but that will have to wait…..anyway … big part of why i am writing this blog right now is because many folks are having great success using sub 20 rep ranges per exercise for lots
