How Should Food Intake Be Modified For Crossfit?

Protein is a very important macronutrient for crossfit athletes. There are a few ways to manipulate protein intake to the athlete’s food plan. First, if one’s body weight can be accurately determined by taking their height and then multiplying it by two (subtracting your age) then you will get the amount of calories that your “body weight” requires (calculated by multiply empty calorie consumption with this number). The other way is using their lean muscle mass to determine how much protein needs to be eaten each day. This calculation takes lean muscle mass into account, but doesn’t take into account water weight or losses because of dieting, daily activities, etc.. These equations suggest similar amounts for both males and females (47-50 grams per day total for men; 39-45 g/d for women). Athletes need more calories than the average person (~2-3 g/kg of ideal body weight) in order to maintain their muscular conditioning during periods of caloric restriction. at Dubai Sports Club, Dubai Thousands of gym rats will descend on the vibrant city to compete for a top spot at one of world’s leading fitness events. The first edition of the Dubai CrossFit Championship will be a six-day event that takes place from December 16 to 20. It aims to celebrate and promote fitness in a bid to help grow fitness culture in popular attractions such as Ritz Carlton, Blue Marlin or Mina A’Salem Beach Hotel & Golf Resort. Andy Cross (27), founder and chief executive officer of Melbourne-based Endurance Fitness has been selected by the UAE organisers as the man behind organising this inaugural conference after competing in several international competitions including qualifying for Headies 2015 and 2016 where he finished third and fourth respectively. The final was held last year in Trinidad and Tobago where Andy was aiming for a second consecutive victory but he failed to qualify leaving him devastated and bruised about his ability.
