The weight of a Young Island Snail with the shell removed is about 50 grams (1.8 ounces). The average size snail weighs in at around 20 grams (0.7 ounces) and the larger species can weigh as much as 100g (3ozs) or more.
How big is an adult underground slug?
An adult Galba truncatula has a body length of 25 mm to 45mm and they grow very slowly and live for up to 3 years so you will most likely not see this species above ground before it dies. This means that if one existed, you would only see them when they moved out from under logs or boulders, where they live their life without ever making contact with any surface during their days underground!
For caves however, they are mobile animals meaning that you would be able to observe these animals above ground for short periods of time before moving back in again. So if one did exist in your system, there would hopefully be evidence of it!
A rule I use when looking for animals in caves is NOT TO LOOK DOWN INTO THE CAVERN FROM A POINT WHERE YOU CAN ATTEMPT TO FOLLOW THE BEDDING OR RUNNING WATER DOWNWARDS FOR LONG DISTANCES UNTIL YOU MEET A SECOND SET OF SIGNS AND THEN GO IN THAT DIRECTION UNTIL YOU MEET ANOTHER SAME TYPE OF SIGN AND CONTINUE ON MOVING IN

It is important to note that Crossfit Murph has tested under 20 minutes in the past.
