When To Tell Your Crossfit Coach You Are Pregnant?
Each individual coach is different in their approach to pregnancy and this is what makes it so hard with coaching. Some coaches are very knowledgeable with pregnancy and see pregnant athletes as a chance to further develop their knowledge and skills with clients who need it most, while others completely refuse any women or girls that they know are pregnant from competing. Here’s the situation: In my experience, I have been told by many coaches that if I let them know before the Baby Week events at Grassroots CrossFit in October 2014, moving forward I will be allowed to compete in WOD’s through out 2015. That means about 5 months later than when you would normally find out your expectant mother is going to be carrying a baby she can’t fathom giving birth too until about 6 months down the road… actually probably closer to 4 months (5-6 weeks). Most of us don’t get news like this on September 11th our birthday which happens 11-9 on our cusp days! It was December 10th for me! My reason for waiting was because we didn’t want anyone else getting wind of that we were expecting since you typically hear of CERTIFICATE RECEIPT CUSTODY given on pregnancies about 4-6 months after conception (unless there is a medical issue), but more importantly we wanted everyone throughout Grassroots CrossFit community at all levels participating without restricting them or putting them at an advantage over other women who were
