CrossFit’s website says that it offers “10 or more” crossfit workouts for $20. I emailed them to ask what the specific price points were, but haven’t heard back yet.
Why do they charge you per workout not per month? How much is one CrossFit class versus 5x a week in the gym?
Unlike traditional weight lifting programs, where clients can have unlimited access to performance enhancement classes offered at their local gym, CrossFit once again steers people away from going to your local aerobics studio and toward a value model—whether its somewhere in their home or a training facility—that allows them to put aside whatever money they have into working out. Once they’ve paid for 10 or more crossfit workouts, then these values drop substantially since most of these people will only be making it up here every few weeks.
I haven’t been able to find any financial figures on these online retail prices but when I questioned my trainer about this cost he told me that “The average market rate is approximately $50-$75 an hour for someone with experience. Drilling down further Dr Gary Hulbert [founder of CrossFit] tells us that the costs range between $30-40 an hour in some instances.” So there you go! It’s not ridiculous pricing by any means either. That last number is pretty low compared to the FLEX [a similar program where membership fees are based
How Many Times A Week Should You Crossfit?
Crossfit is such a great form of exercise that you can do it any time of day, but the number of times per week isn’t as important as consistency and avoiding injury. It can be difficult to exercise 4 or 5 times per week if your work or school schedule doesn’t permit. That said, I personally recommend doing crossfit once a week for about an hour and a half at first, and then gradually increasing frequency as your fitness level increases. Crossfitters tend to do more than just 1 workout per day – we tend to work out multiple body parts in one session! So even though I recommend exercising twice a week initially, you may find that you prefer doing crossfit 3-4 times during the same period to achieve optimal results.

The quality of the lift determines where on this continuum you are placed. This continuum can be visualized using a bell curve ranging from best to worst with most people somewhere in the middle so they don’t stand out when they perform well and can easily find their way back up when performing poorly for whatever reason such as injury or lack of preparation (Beck 2011). Â 2) In Olympic weightlifting, there are 5 events: snatch, clean & jerk, squat, press and total. Each event has its own intensity level at which athletes must excel to finish first in competition with many athletes focusing on several events and training that individual skill in all phases of training except during competitions (Beck 2011).
