What is crossfit?
Crossfit is a fitness regimen that emphasizes “constantly varied functional movements” with the intent to improve all aspects of fitness. The basic definition of Crossfit would be that you perform lots of exercises with lots of different types of equipment in order to work on aerobic conditioning, muscle conditioning, flexibility conditioning/stretching, agility conditioning/agility skill development with weights (curls), weightlifting skills/movement practice (snatches), cardiovascular endurance training (swimming or running), gymnastic strength building (pull ups/dips) plus bouts with various pieces of yardage equipment such as pull up ropes, hand held hoppers etc… All these goals are achieved with an even emphasis across all workouts without distinction. From my understanding this isn’t really all that complicated.. lol.. Basically the entire month is like this month’s WODs BUT you’re also doing lifting too(either using dumbells or oly bars). I think most people who do Crossfit don’t want it categorized something like “aerobics”… they want it recognized as more than aerobics! How Often Do You Increase Weight In Crossfit?
A little more about how it works: The magic of a cyclical model is that you don’t have to hit a certain level of intensity for weeks at a time. In fact, by changing the amount of weight you lift at different times during the cycle, you can maintain or increase strength output while also cutting your overall volume in half. For example, if somebody could only do three sets of ten reps per exercise on back squats with 150 pounds but wanted to get stronger still, these 3×10 sets would be ideal ways to get stronger without adding much weight because they cut back on sets and reps below 10—and focus solely on increases above 10 reps.
