“I’m doing great! I would say my training is going pretty well. I haven’t been competing too much, actually, but it has been a little bit chaotic because life happened.I’m here in Australia with my parents and brother, who are here for vacation at the same time as me… he needed to go back God knows when so we had to move our flight back by five hours….so yeah all of that stuff has pushed on me while training again. But I feel like I am on top of things right now so hopefully soon I will be able to compete some more.”
So obviously you have had some time give it some thought about the difference between 2018 and 2017? “Well there are definitely differences. When I was 19 or 20 years old, no one knew who Lauren Fisher was, especially not in CrossFit! This year people know me for sure compared to last year when they didn’t really know what to expect from me . So clearly there is more media coverage, but the biggest thing is the sponsorships which has grown twice since last year (by 8), Thank you everyone :-). Also having this event put together with Rebecca did help build my confidence knowing that there were people out there invested in what we were doing behind closed doors.”

Saturday, October 21 What happens when you fail a snatch or a clean and jerk? You need to leave that minute the timer hits zero. All eyes are on you when it comes time to hit the snooze button, but you’re not going anywhere. Let me tell you what happens in this state of resignation… No matter how much fun I have at any local Crossfit competition or in team training, I always go home feeling embarrassed about my performance. After watching the video below, if your only thought is “I hope no one saw me fail!” then there is no point anymore in being an athlete. If that’s where your head is after failing at something important to you that requires repetition, then don’t train for anything ever again! A new mantra should replace the old “practice makes perfect” truism: Practice Makes Safe. I’ve learned through experience that if I keep practicing with every goal accounted for by proper programming methodology until failure occurs, I will improve so long as my intent remains compassionate and authentic at each session.
